Rethymno Carnival festivities are returning to Rethymno, from January through February 26 .  There are plenty of ways that locals and guests are once again able to celebrate the famous Cretan carnival this year. Rethymno Carnival 2023 looks promising as it is one of the biggest cultural winter events in Rethymno and all over Crete. Everyone is looking forward to and waiting to participate in this year's festivities, after three years of absence. Carnival's main parade will be held on Sunday 26 February 2023 In this week's kick-off meeting, a total of 16 out of 37, about half of them which have already registered for participating, will use the costumes of 2020, when the carnival was canceled due to coronavirus, just two days before the main parade. February is a cold month of the year! It is also a month of renovations for Goly's Villa, mainly because there are not many bookings at this time of year. So we prefer to move and deal with everything that needs to be done. At the same time we live in the house, (don't forget it is our main house, and we treasure it). The last few days as I said, the weather is very cold but our stove is the best way to have a warm and comfortable environment at home. Air conditioning systems, although present in the house, are not needed.  Today we also cooked at our stove! Lima beans as you already read in the title of this article! Well those weren't from our garden, the carrots, spring onions, fresh fennel were, and we grow a lot in our garden, lima beans not yet! In most of its moments, October was a warm and beautiful month! It rained once for two days at the beginning of the month, but after that, some days were warmer than Summer. Today is really winter! It rains all day, it gets colder and colder and the mood is to stay home, near the fireplace! Of course we did not miss the opportunity! Our stove lit up for the first time this year and later I will make some pumpkin in the oven! I will upload a photo here too ... We really enjoy winter nights with pumpkin in the oven !!!
